Launching Echoes Unheard: A Movement Begin

The launch of Echoes Unheard on 11th April 2025 was a powerful moment, a collective step toward amplifying the voices of marginalized communities, with a special focus on the stories of women and girls. Their experiences, often overlooked, are at the heart of this movement, and the event celebrated their resilience and strength. Yet, this was not just a gathering for women; it was a call to action for everyone, including male allies, to stand together in solidarity.

Ambassador Amina’s speech was a highlight, her words a clarion call for unity. As a beacon of leadership, she spoke with conviction about the urgent need to elevate the voices of women and girls while emphasizing that true change happens when we all, men and women alike work together. Her message resonated deeply, reminding everyone that progress is a shared responsibility.

It was both a great pleasure and a true honor for us at Echoes Unheard to meet up with Madam Zeinab Hawa Bangura, the Director General of UNON, once again on the 5th of September. Our dialogue was deeply meaningful, leaving us all with valuable insights that continue to resonate long after the echoes of the room have faded. Femicide or the intentional killing of women, isn’t just a number; it causes great pain and suffering for families and those around them. These stories are not ignored at Echoes Unheard. We aim to give voice to those who have been affected by violence and to help Kenya see the changes it needs.
